I have had nothing but trouble with the HD60s. Elgato tried to help but they ultimately told me, "Oh well, sorry." their software will not pass audio correctly at all. Not happy with them.

The main thing with the S is the instant gameview and now requiring USB 3, though it did lose the integrated H.264 encoder of the USB 2 non-S 60.

How well does the Elgato HD60S capture compared to your Atomos Inferno? Can it do 8-bit ProRes 422? Have you tried something like the BlackMagic UltraStudio Mini Monitor? Thanks Jeff!

So if I don't care about the latency, which is better for my game capturing and streaming at 1080p 60fps? The HD60, or the HD60 S?

I use an HDMI splitter, so passing through the device is not a factor for me. From what I underatand, the non S has the video coding built in, which is why it doesn't need USB3.0, and puts less stress on the CPU. Is one easier to use with OBS, and is there a difference in quality?

The Game Capture HD app suite is good and usable, but I prefer OBS Studio. @9to5mac have you used it? I'm really tempted to sell my BlackMagicDesign Intensity Pro 4k now for one of these... I think I'll wait, but the temptation is gonna be there.

Can you use this with OBS or only the proprietary capture software? Does the camera you connect essentially work like a webcam?

What's your audio set too? Because when I record with my Elgato HD60S I do get music & some audio but when cut scenes happen in the game there is no audio at all.My computer is a Mac mini.
