I haven't bought F1 24 (for obvious reasons) and I've been playing F1 23 with the 2024 mod and wow is it amazing, It is hands down the best F1 experience I have had since F1 2020

F1 23 is miles ahead of F1 24 thanks to your "amazing feedback" to get the handling changed on F1 24

The Steam player base seems to be speaking on which (not just handling) they prefer too. The peak avg players per day was easily 3300 for F1 23 (until F1 24 release) while F1 24 is already down to 2200.

Hell, the last month F1 23 is: 1400. F1 24 is 2100.

F1 23 only dropped below 3000 in two months of the year before F1 24 release, Oct & Jan where the biggest Steam deals normally are. F1 24 peak is already less than the lowest F1 23 peak, 2100 avg peak for last 30 days.

Of course, the producers won't care as they already got their money from the game.

I dont understand the question. F1 24 is dogshit. Thanks to people like you, araava, tiametmarduk and all the other casual drivers who said the "New handling Model is good and very realistic". Just go and have a look at the current Player numbers. Its dying 2 month after Release already. BUT HEEEY, WE HAVE A BRAND NEW CAREER MODE !!!
THANK YOU 🙏🏽

As a controller player f1 23 was an amazing game for me

The car drives like it has some weight in 23, that’s the difference. Play Iracing or Assetto corsa and drive F1 cars on there, the feeling is similar to 23 in terms of front end response. These cars weigh 800kg, they won’t have that stupid infinite grip front end that 24 has. 24s front end just shows the arcade direction the game has gone in.

Also, the turning is much more realistic in 23. These modern F1 cars are famous for needing smooth steering inputs, Peter Windsor talks about it CONSTANTLY. In 23 you NEED to be smooth on your inputs, in 24 the weird herky jerky steering is weird as is the stability control.

Since i have never driven an actual F1 car i would like to know how the different handling models relate to real life. Was F1 23 realistic and F1 24 is super arcade-like. Ideally a handling model is set up to be as close to realism as possible or am i wrong?

i enjoyed very much driving F1 23 but for my personal opinion one thing that i’ve been searching for to make the front end stronger and more pointy.
No matter what i did with car settings i couldn’t get it right to the point where i want it to be.
Then i finally give F1 24 a try. Like you said i was quite surprised how sharp the front end is. Through enough practice finally i get used to it and able to drive with 360 rotation. i’m using dd pro and increase natural inertia for 20 to give weight into the steering wheel and for me it feels really good.
And i like the body roll effect also in F1 24.
To my personal preference, i’m staying with F1 24 now.

You should be more honest as the fall in players is decreasing your salary directly. F1 24 handling is no more than arcade. It is only going to go downhill as the handling model was put with so little effort, it's a disgrace. EA did everything to market the game but couldn't pay one person to fix the game. I will not be playing f1 games after f1 23 and am moving on to more realistic games.

alex its clear youre flooring the throttle and using lower gears in slow speed corners to make the car slide on purpose, we get you have a f1 24 handling is better propaganda but why trash on F1 23?

That stability control I felt like was on the controller was years now where you can feel so confident driving it sideways its crazy and it would help the controller in low speed change of direction for example

11:35 and this shit would be "closer to real life than 23" lol

They need to lessen the rear grip by making the slip upon acceleration more pronounced (so flooring it will cause you to lose way too much traction and spin out). The other thing that can work is to move the weight of the car more to the front to get rid of the massive amount of rear grip. So the micro-corrections will still be necessary, however there will need to be finer precision upon and/or with acceleration.

You can't really say the cars in 23 aren't sharp enough if you're playing in T-cam view. Wider FOV effectively mutes the sharpness impression, just like it mutes sense of speed. Go into cockpit view, set a realistic FOV and cars will feel plenty sharp.

I don't know about the filters. When I see F1 drivers (and I know they're the best in the world), it doesn't seem like it's that difficult for them to correct slides. Matter of fact, many times when they played the game before, they've said it was too easy to spin compared to real life. Personally, I think F1 24 feels a bit closer to the real thing probably (obviously am not an F1 driver, so how am I honna know for sure), even though I am slower on F1 24, since I much prefer the one time smooth turn in than the (albeit more realistic) multiple aggressive turn in moments you have to do in F1 24

EA - F1 24 - Dynamic handling system - Cooperation with Max Verstappen.
But no, we have expert gamers that should know better 🙂.
Official EA announcement:
The insane amount of traction that's available to you in F1 24, particularly in the medium and high-speed corners, allowing you to put the power down far earlier than you're used to and to be more aggressive in your corner entry speed too. There's even more traction at corner exits too – even with traction control turned off – demonstrating the grip levels at play. EA Sports says these changes have been made after feedback from real-life F1 drivers, like Max Verstappen, about how F1 cars should drive and feel.

How is a man who has never driven an F1 car before the authority on realism?
