Some follow up thoughts on the DZP MK2 since I felt there were some things I didn't explain as well as I could've, and some comments I wanted to address in a more substantial way.

I think this also makes the case for notifying your local law enforcement or park managers about your games and brightly advertise yourselves with banners and cones at nerf events to let it be very obvious what is going on. We've had police called on our games and they visually see what's going on and leave without even getting out of their car. It's a concern as an organizer, but I feel can be mitigated with the prior points.

Silhouette is a key thing, particularly in a low light situation. I wonder if there will be the slight irony of someone making a body kit to make it look less gun-like

Anyone who runs legit events will completely understand my man. I held one before Drac's video went live and loved using it...and hated that it looked so realistic out of safety concerns and knowing the future headaches that will occur because of it.

Probably the lowest hanging fruit to do to change the gunny look: It's the slide. Shifting the gray-black color really does a number on changing the perception almost breaking the silhouette. Quickly throwing an image of the blaster side view in MSPaint and coloring out the black really shows how much of a difference it makes.

If we're considering silhouette alone then there are many Nerf brand blasters which resemble AR pistols, hell, the Star Wars Nerf line has blasters based off props which were based on real steel. I'd argue that mounting EOTech clones onto blasters gives it more of a risque silhouette; especially so when people are running around with molle vests. I think realistically the only way to be safe is to inform the local council of your event, play during the day and use brightly colored blasters.

This video rules! I love seeing some critical insight into the NERF hobby and how well you explained your opinions about this blaster. Instant subscribe and I can’t wait to watch more.

You are the first reviewer on the Mk2 that I have seen that has even pointed out there are holes on the Speed Loader that could have been used to load on the fly.
First, that’s a great observation.
But as you are the only one that saw that, maybe that isn’t what it was actually designed for.

I think some 3D printed SCAR front barrel attachments would look really nice on it. Maybe 3D printed custom holsters too.

Watch until the end. There are some great points. People think there rights are infringed on with regards to this blaster and you shouldn't but when your not allowed public games anymore how you gonna feel then.
People can be stupid

Thanks for this follow up video. I plan on recording my review for this, this weekend, and will be addressing the "looks" topic as well and have given me alternate perspective on it.

I agree with this perspective. Look at what happened with Australia’s laws just recently. The best part about this hobby is that it’s about fun and legislation and regulations restricting it take away from that immeasurably.

I was bummed you couldn't top-off the speedloaders in the holder too :(

You can use the holster left handed look up a plains/calvary draw it was common to carry butt forward like that for a long time because its more comfortable in a seated position.

I love the title! It was clever to keep with that theme

I'm the guy who commented about it being bright, I haven't seen more than 10 guns in my life so I didn't know there were coloured guns.

Even as someone who loves accurate replicas I have to somewhat agree on the realism. I think full orange would've fixed it mostly because if you wanted it to be realistic you could just paint it.

It certainly has a real steel-like profile; I own several handguns and this is very close to a Glock 17 barring the longer tail. That said, is it that much worse than a Rival Knockout? Other than the orange pump handle they are similar in size and silhouette, and that orange handle could be masked by a sleeve or a supporting hand from curious glances.
My only experience of organized games is HvZ on a university campus, and we informed the campus police beforehand so they would know to expect a bunch of people running around in the dark pointing 'weapons' at each other. Even then the campus was open to the public so we still got occasional puzzled glances from passers by.
Given what they're trying to achieve with this, what would you do differently to minimize the reel steel looks? Brighter colors? I'd have put an orange slide on it instead of the black slide.
I suspect if this is a success we will see a cheaper Adventure Force version on WalMart shelves before the end of 2021, with an all orange body.

Both myself and one of the moderators in my local nerf group have Vector bodied stryfes, though we used them on different days. Thankfully neither of us had any issues despite colouring mine silver and black his a deep candy red and black, both with decent sized orange tops. I'm also making a predominantly orange front for mine.

As for the DZP MK2's colouration it is kind of similar the the red Kronos, but like others have said the silhouette makes a big difference
