Hi Nathan.
No matter what holesaw you buy, you will nearly always snap the bit if you allow the large bit to jump into the material after the pilot bit breaks through. You have to use finesse drilling the pilot and also starting, and finishing, the main hole..
In my day, once your journeyman provided the appropriate "feedback" for breaking a couple of his bits, most apprentices learned pretty quick.
It might be a lot easier if you clamped / stabilized the door and found a way of bracing your shoulder.
If you use a bit of oil and take it easy, decent holesaws will last generations.. I still have about two dozen from my time as an electrician though the '70s & '80s.
Best regards, Dennis

A rotating roof top water cannon, would top off this beast.

Hi Nathan! Just noticed that you used the fasteners from the lock kits to install, those are really meant for installing into wood. I would recommend getting some machine screw fasteners or self tapping metal screws for this application. The included screws are a bit soft and might break for this application.
BTW Great work! Really coming together!

Hope you sandblast and prime/paint, that would ensure permanent adhesion. .

Probably heat treated. On the bright side, it won't warp have to be replaced.

How about pre drilling the pilot hole before using the cricular bit. I do this when coring holes through concrete/brick walls. The bit inside the circular bit is really just for a guide, to keep it straight.
