NSF Director Sethuraman Panchanathan speaks on how the NSF was fulfilling its mission to support research and innovation. He emphasizes how NSF funding has been persistent and resilient during the popularity “winters” of key technologies such as AI and recounts the history of the number of Nobel prize winners who got their start from NSF funding. He also speaks to the new NSF emphasis on nurturing innovation everywhere in the country without lowering standards through the GRANTED program. He describes the NSF Pathways to Entrepreneurship initiative and the force-multiplier private-public partnership focus.
