The US Government wants a closer look at Chinese books to bring them up to our audit standards. Chinese officials do not want foreign countries to have access to Chinese companies’ data. This could lead to delisting off Chinese stocks on US exchanges.

I disagree with you. NIO CEO vision for NIO is to be the next Apple. Hence why NIO Park going to look a lot like Apple headquarters. NIO can’t get to Apple’s level without exposure to the rest of the world. I’m not worried about NIO being delisted. China is clearly positioning themselves to be the dominant player on the block. To be a world leader. They will either end up playing by the rules, or get them changed.

For many reasons I don't buy that story and don't believe there is a high risk as you claim.
We have heard that delisting story for about a year now.
Nio is 85 % ready to be listed at Hongkong stock exchange and
shortly we cant just switch our stock to Hongkong class A stocks and risk eliminated.
Xpeng is already listed in Hongkong.

"over the counter" stocks (that we call OTC's) are not really listed, isn't that right?

Good words of advice. There is an additional element of risk involved compared to US companies without a doubt. There’s never any harm in having too much information and knowledge of what is going on in different countries and how they operate.
