Forgotten Rusty Battery Lantern Restoration

Hi! Restoration of an old battery-powered lantern. The year of manufacture is 1962. The condition is bad. I bought it at a flea market. The parts are in place, but rusty and dirty. The surprise was the water in the battery compartment.

My first duty was to start disassembling the lantern into details. I cleaned the bolts and screws with a rust remover. I rewired the wire contacts.
I cleaned the inner wall with a solvent and repainted it white.
The surface of the lantern frame was cleaned with sand, primed and painted with paint.

I washed the batteries many times with distilled water. Then I put it on a charge for 8 hours, recharged it with a conventional 9 volt charger at the output.
Next, I collected everything, connected and tested the flashlight. Please do not forget to share this video.

Алекс привет. Это да, фонарь станционного смотрителя и стрелочника по моему. Всё отлично получилось, только краску, черную, всё-таки надо было брать глянец. Так ближе к оригиналу🤗 Интересно, что будет дальше? Раз на фонари перешёл 😁 Хотя не менее интересно конечно. Удачных проектов 👍👍👍🤝🤝

YES! RED FOR RAILROAD. Sorry forgot the caps were on lol. Love this old lantern for the railways. I never figured on refilling the battery after cleaning it out. Great job on the restoration. No scabbard needed but still a tool!
