Can never understand people abusing each other over brand loyalty.

I love ios and Android. Why the hate for one or the other?

I appreciate both systems. I was Android for years, had iPhone for two, switched to Android for three and now I’m back on iPhone. This is probably where I’ll stay and it literally comes down to the updates, longevity of the products and the closed nature of the ecosystem. I realize a lot of people hate this but ... I’m Tech Support in my family. Whatever I can do to stop my husband from more easily getting a virus or throwing his phone across the room because he can’t figure something out or it stalls - the better my life is. We were actually on Pixels just for the ease of use before switching. THE ONE THING THAT DIVES ME NUTS WITH iOS - and I really thought you were going to say this - are the notifications. They are just bad. Period. So bad.

I've been an Samsung user since Galaxy 3, my current phone is the S8. I need a new phone and I'm gonna try the iPhone 12 pro max. I just want to experience the iPhone for myself.

real consumers don't have brand loyalties because real consumers understand companies (generally) don't care about their customer's needs...just their money💰

"The ecosystem won't keep me there"

I was 100% Android until last year myself after years of HTC and Samsung. The Note10 pushed me over the edge after a samesy Note9 and an unimpressive Note10. I was intending to stay with Samsung for Samsung Pay alone since that MST feature was unbeatable but, funnily enough, the Galaxy Watch showed me how many places around me use NFC making MST unnecessary.

I got tied into the ecosystem as well starting with finding a stainless Series 4 on Swappa for $315, followed by iPad Air 3 and AirPod Pros. I don’t have a Mac and most likely won’t get one since I graduate in January. Might get an iPad Pro after graduation ngl.

What’s really keeping me here now is the support. I covered this in a business expense course recently. Take a Samsung S10 compared to an iPhone 11 Pro @ $1, 000 each. At the time they only promised 2 updates while Apple has nearly guaranteed a minimum of 5 years of support. If a device is only usable for the support life then that S10 would operate at $500/year. The 11 Pro would break down to $200/year. It may cost a bit more to get into, but that investment lass a good amount of time

I do have devices on both platforms too, and for me it comes down to one main reason for each OS:

Android - The file management system. I can find anything and everything I want easily, like in a PC. The first time I used iOS, I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING in the phone 😂, and after doing some research, I found out they just straight up don't allow it. Everything is kept within each app. Not being able to hook up OTG USB drives really suck too.

iOS - Yup, updates... and like you said, everything just works, and works especially well among other apple devices. Airdrop is great too. I don't care much about iMessage since in my part of the world, people don't use iphones as much as in the states, and even people who do, use apps like whatsapp or telegram.

Good case for IOS...I agree that the worst thing about Android is system update frequency...They need to improve.

11:39 The issue with Samsung more long term support is that the high numbers of phones and variations. I mean Samsung line, they have Exynos and Snapdragon processors for the same model of phone depending on where you live. That is to say nothing of the A Series, Note Series, S series, etc variations and models and feature sets.

Apple puts the same chip in each device for that year which is built on upon the chip from last year (A12, A13, A14, etc) which provides a lot of consistency and performance over the years which makes long term support easier. Plus most devices don't vary much from year with Apple. There are no folding screens or stylus or anything crazy.

I'm considering moving to an iPhone during my next upgrade but there's one thing about Android you got wrong. You said there's nothing going on on the Android side when it comes to quick updates but Google's working on it for a while now. Android 11 is supposed to be ready to update automatically a lot of stuff through the Play Store. That would be a huge step forward if we ignore the fact that first Android 11 will have to saturate the market and it has to do it with this "long way" for updates that's there now.

Oh and 120 Hz (or at least 90) matters to most of the people I know that had a few moments to live with a higher refresh rate.

Hey Travis, this is a great video, and so relevant to what I'm experiencing now. I've been and still am, a huge Apple fan. I'm heavily tied into the ecosystem. But about 3 days ago, I got a Samsung Galaxy S8, for a good deal, and I fell in love with it!! The screen and resolution on this phone is amazing! I was never a fan of android, but using the OS these last few days have been pretty good. I think I'll become one of those guys that carry two phones around. I'm not leaving Apple, but I will be enjoying both phones. They both serve a purpose and are a pleasure to use. My iPhone is an 11 Pro Max.

I prefer Android, actually the Note series is my favorite and I've had them all, including the new Note 20 Ultra. That being said, I buy iPhones for my husband. Waiting for Apple to support the pencil on phones and hopefully integrate them like the Note, and I'm in.

Everything he said. I’ve had several Samsung phones in the past and I currently have a iPhone XS Max. Although there are things my old Samsung did that iPhones still can’t do, overall the experience on iOS is better. Mainly for me it’s the updates so your phone lasts longer. In the past Samsung Galaxy phones were so much cheaper it didn’t matter and I couldn’t see the value in a iPhone. . But now they’re the same price but iPhones will last much longer because of the updates.

As someone who just started using an Iphone (7) a month ago, after my galaxy note 8 simply died, there is something that instantly caught my attention: although the battery life is simply terrible (just like the iphone SE 2), I noticed that the iphone practically doesn't consume battery when the screen is off! That's amazing! One day I charged it up to 100%, my sister needed the charger so I unplugged it, but left it on the table sleeping (I was playing a game or something). FIVE HOURS later, I went to check my notifications, and the battery was still at 100%! That amazed me so much because my note 8 used to consume about 5% every hour with the screen off (even without always-on display). So I guess thats a feature that benefits light users a lot.
