Three Sisters GROW BAG Garden

I planted a "Three Sisters Garden" in grow bags with oyas. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣A Three Sisters Garden is a traditional Native American agricultural method where corn, beans, and squash are grown together. By planting them together, each plant supports the others and maximizes your space. ⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣I'm taking it one step further by adding an Oya (or Olla), which is a traditional unglazed clay pot used for irrigation. This ancient technique was used by indigenous communities in Mexico and the Southwest US. The Oya releases water slowly and directly to the roots of the plants, reducing water usage and promoting healthy growth. 🌞⁣⁣⁣

This method is perfect for those with limited space or poor soil quality. I'm excited to see how my Three Sisters Garden with Oyas grows this season, and I can't wait to enjoy the delicious harvest! ⁣⁣⁣

Wow, this will be amazing if it works! I tried grow bags last year and even watering twice a day and shade from afternoon sun, everything shriveled up. Trying the olla is genius! I look forward to seeing how this turns out.

I have seen other growers using the classic 3 Sisters. They usually stagger the planting. Did you find varieties that the timing works?

I wanna experiment with grow bags too. I have 20x 20gal ones (planning to eventually put fruit trees in them in between raised beds, but until my fruits are a bit bigger I dont want to drown them in a pot thats too big

A couple years back I planted corn and spineless okra, I didn't really understand it cuz I'm kind of new to garden at that time. But my okras wouldn't going to fly but not Todd or something like that.pandicorn did go fairly tall and did produce a few ears but I really realized these 2 plants really hate each other and when I remove the corn, the okra took off.

Do any of your ollas grow some sort of mold on them? My smaller ones do and I’m not sure if it’s potentially dangerous for the plants
