I could do a little German through school, but it only got better when I started watching series that I knew by heart, like the fresh Prince but on RTL Germany.

I personally would love to visit Germany at some point. I have good friend in Oberhausen, DE who I would enjoy visiting and just to get the opportunity to see the country of my ancestors would be an amazing time. I especially would like see Sachsenwald, the Black Forest Region and the Alps. I am so glad you and the Mrs. had such a great trip.

Hey Nate! Great to hear you guys had a good time in Germany.
Don't worry about the language, I'm sure you'll pick it up very fast, once you'll have to speak German on a daily basis.
Have you heard of 'Easy German'?
It's a channel here on YouTube that is for people that are in the process of learning German. Their videos usually have a life-situation combined with a certain aspect of the language. They speak very clear German and they have subtitles. Maybe check them out, they're also very funny most of the times. I'm gonna put a link of one of their videos down below.

I'm glad you liked the scenery in our itty-bitty country :) It's small but the mountains are high (mushrooms mostly) Little joke, there. Just found you by going through different channels. Really interesting stuff so far.

Very nice video. It is so nice to hear, that our region Pfalz is seen with such love and appreciation. For your next trip to Germany (or after settling over), I suggest you to visit the Deutsche Weinstraße, which is just a few kilometers east of Ramstein area. You really have to see all the little villages along this road. And if you might have a stop in Bad Dürkheim (best season is the first half of September for a special reason, that you should find out by yourself ;-), feel free to contact me for showing you around a little bit.
