I think apart of why people stress over porosity is because a lot of influencers with long hair say it's the most important factor for hair growth. Another factor they stress is curl type 😩

I missed you, glad to see you're back🥰. Your videos are life changing and I've learned a lot since I came across your channel in 2014, when I was 13, and managed to grow my hair past waist lenght two times. I love youtubers like you and Curly Chemistry that focus on the science of hair😊.

I started stressing over porosity when I began to transition to grey. I was low porosity but everyone kept saying that grey hair becomes more porous, which I couldn't understand since I never colored or chemically treated my hair. With all the confusion about caring for grey hair I was ready to throw in the towel and go back to relaxer. It's funny how going grey is inevitable but no one knows how it affects the porosity.

Damaged hair or hair that has been colour treated i.e. use of permanent dyes or even bleaching the hair etc. causes the hair to become that of a high porosity. Additionally, high porosity hair tend to lose moisture rather quickly due to the damage cuticles. So although they can absorb moisture quickly, it also loses moisture quickly leaving the hair dry and brittle thus easy to break. I always enjoy your content. Keep them coming 😊

When neither of the suggested porosity regimens were appropriate for my hair, I had my suspicions. When I treated my hair as if it were normal porosity, had zero issues. After that I started noticing all the contradictions in everyone’s videos.

You're baaaack. Been wondering if you're OK. Today is my hair day. Self love and self discovery are just two benefits of my natural hair journey. BTW the sublime sulphur oil has helped my crown flourish! Thanks. Welcome back.

Great video! This is my first time hearing that kinky hair is the only hair type that's alive. I'd love it if you made a video about that. 😊

My hair porosity started to improve over the course of this year when wore it out for longer periods and was consistent with my regimen. Also drastic improvements with Ayurvedic treatments (aloe Vera powder in my deep conditioner). And tea rinses.

I want to say that the water in a glass experiment does not work but I knew that my hair used to dry up before I could finish drying off my body. Now it stays dripping wet for about an hour before it starts to dry out with no product. Game changer!

funny you posted this, finally started getting help from a hair stylist during my consultation with her at the beginning she was sure that my hair was high porosity, hell, she would have died on a hill with that information. Within 2 weeks my porosity "looked" high porosity, but acted normal, so we just went to the very basics and treated my hair as normal as possible... it seems to be thriving... I think

Thanks for sharing. I'm definitely low porosity with dense hair. My hair needs a lot of TLC.

My hair is fragile and breaks/falls easily but it does NOT soak up water/products nor does it dry quickly.

I thought I knew my porosity but I don't think I do. I think my hair has all three porosities. Because of this, I act as if I am just high porosity. I'm always moisturizing my hair and my hair is thriving.
