That's funny, I thought I started Monitor Audio. I teamed up with Martin Colloms on the original design of the MA1. Mo came in probably 6 months later as production manager. Assembly started with myself providing KEF drive units via my retail shop Audio T (Cambridge) in those days KEF would not supply directly as we were unknown. Mo and myself spent many a long day in Mo's garage screwing drive units and soldering crossovers in place. After a while I sold out to Mo and joined AMC/UCI cinemas and worked developing 3 way cinema speakers and sound systems as chief engineer. I'm now retired and live in NZ. I still like Monitor Audio loudspeakers.

I have just recently had a pair of Monitor Audio R352's which were going in the skip from someone who is ill.. All they needed was a coat of Liberon Ebony Wood Stain & they are now my Pride & Joy in my living room .. the sound quality is just amazing after my Monitor Audio 9's which at the time were just amazing.. but 36 yrs on the Monitor Audio R352's are back after being in a attic for 10 yrs & the person is happy they are being looked after...

I worked for monitor audio when they were based in Cambridge Clifton Road I remember mo he had an office upstairs I worked with honey who was Annette's husband there was also a guy who worked upstairs called Verne.

It is very important that a speaker making company informs you about the amplifier match. speaker companies try their products using an Amp - there's no other way - but very few inform about the Amp they used during the making and fine adjusting process

Upgraded from Silver to gold. And 4G gold to 5G gold series. Always been happy with the quality and sound from MA.

great to see the Studio 6 again in the video. I had them for a long time and gave me a lot of enjoyment. Still playing with my studio 2 which I will never sell...as I find that was the biggest mistake I made with the 6's.

Amazing products indeed. What i truly love is the concave drivers concept. An inverted spherical cap .. a perfect seamless surface ... usable for all drivers from subwoofers to tweeters. It exudes perfection. Actually i wonder why not all drivers are made like that. The cone driver concept is very trivial in comparison. Maybe it is easier to make ? P.S. one of my very first speakers have been the R352 model. Very very exciting sound.

I appreciate the dedication and attention to details, but I do wish that same attention you give to the sound was also given to the look…. No black grills? Can be an eyesore in my theater. Waiting to drop a few bucks on them once you find the time to offer them in black.

Studio 20se were there best or the one I wanted most. Strangely I don't like the platinum series, I'd go elsewhere at that price. Bring the studio 20s back as a proper audiophile speaker. I have gold reference 10, an old but still good speaker.

I’d put my gold 100 5G up against any standmount in its class.. probably beat most costing thousands more and looks better than anything out there
