Ozito PXC 18V POLE PRUNER slipping chain Hack.
Easy way to make this really useful tool work better. I have taken a back a few Ozito items. They work really well, but usually the power switch fails prematurely. This bug amazed me. There was either something missing in the package .. or I'm just stupid. Any way this hack fixed it and it performs a unit that cost twice its price.

Hi mate, you are missing the circlip. The circlip holds the washers and sprocket on the bevel gear. Ditch the magnet, it may fly out when using.

Ah, thanks for the effort, I needed to tighten my chain tension, another vid, an unboxing, revealed that under the black dial, there is red dial and if you do not tighten the black part until yiou rotate the red dial -= one way tightens and the other way loosens, you can set very easily set the chain tension. Oh yeah your saw was missing a simple circlip that holds the washer on,

An issue with the older corded (mains powered) saw and possibly this product as well, may be compliance in the plastic structure which causes the geartrain and chain to chatter when a good chain bites into the wood. This causes the bar to slip back and loosen the chain which then walks off the sprocket. With the older corded machine, folk are driven to increasingly over-tighten the centre knob which then strips off its metal centre hub. The clamping arrangement on the bar should be metal with guide wings but then it would cost more. Whe the centre knob strips from its centre hub, It then becomes impossible to dismantle the bar and chain. Once the knob turns and nothing happens, the plastic of the knob has become disbonded with the metal centre. It becomes possible to pull the knob off the centre hub with vicegrips, then grab the thin shaft with vicegrips and unfasten it and use vicegrips on the shaft to tighten after bar adjustment with the outer wheel. My temporary repair has been to use a thick washer with small centre hole and wide diameter to clamp the outer wheel with the centre now thin shaft and hopefully set the bar firmly until I can invent something better. Otherwise when things are fine, the machine works well. For trimming off branches from felled large limbs it is safer and less cruel on my geriatric backbone than stooping to use a small chainsaw.

I cleaned it but there is a little magnet. Was is it for? Where does it go? Thx in advance.

Disregard Bunnings Brothers and Sisters. If you remove the bar and chain, I suggest that you do as you will get a lot of build up. There is a little magnet that sits in a slot of the same dimensions. It just seems to sit there.

This is a pretty impressive bit of kit for the price as much as I didn’t want to buy Chinese. It smashed through dried ghost gum and manna gums like balsa wood that were pretty thick. Keep your chain sharp and it is really good. Cheerio. 🇦🇺👍🍺

Always astonished by dangerous hacks posted by people who clearly haven't read the manual. Ozito gear is brilliant and yet this guy says he's always returning or fixing. That wouldn't happen if you take 5 minutes to read the instructions.
