Litter Action: protecting platypus in Diamond Creek

Diamond Creek has the highest rate of platypus litter entanglement across our area of operation. When volunteer litter audits discovered a nearby bin was constantly overflowing, a solar compacting bin was installed in collaboration with Nillumbik Council.

This was part of Melbourne Water's Litter Action Project, which worked with schools, community groups and the general community to reduce litter at its source.
