Selkie- Teaser Trailer

Показать описание
This is a mood/teaser trailer for a short film (Selkie) I would go on to work on the following semester in my course.
This story follows Aila, a Selkie trapped on land in an abusive relationship. This teaser shows Aila feeling as close to home as she can get in a swimming pool, surrounded by water. Although ultimately this scene never made it into the final film, it was a great pleasure to edit and really set the tone for the final film.
The crew consisted of:
Director: Ellis O. Morrison
Producer: Georgie Pritchard
Camera: Clara Burke
Editing: Aaron Bayne
Sound Design: Aaron Bayne
Editing Notes: Personally I think this is one of my more polished works. The blend of the sound and stunning cinematography really made it a breeze to edit together. It is short and simple, and although you might not understand the full context (that being of the Selkie myth) you get the gist that something isn't right, and this is Aila's escape. The aim was to achieve a dream-like feel for this trailer.
This was also my first use of overlays in a project, and although at points I find them a bit abrasive, looking back, I think they still work rather well.
For sound, I worked around a lot of reversed music. It was soft music to the point I wouldn't it immediately stands out as reversed.
