DIY Overland Vehicle - Earthroamer Inspired Truck Camper On A Budget

VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Andrew and Ashley spent 2 years building this adventure vehicle from the ground up. They worked out of their friends garage and literally built the frame, the box, the interior... Everything. They initially hoped it would take 2 months of 16 hour days... Always give yourself more time than you think it's going to take. They have a beefy solar system with lithium batteries, tons of storage and the ability to travel on absolutely any terrain with the truck they built on top of and the additions they made. There's so much good information in this video about a small, functional layout including a bathroom, how to take care of moisture under beds and solar, so if you love adventure and life on the road, this is the video for you!

Earthroamers have taken off over the last few years. This has lead to people building these awesome DIY overland rigs! Is this something you are considering?

I can’t watch stuff like this because it makes quitting school and traveling the country a way too enticing option 😂

I've watched over 500 trailers, RV, campers and tiny home videos. I simply adore the concept of living small but with luxury. And this truck camper of yours is by far the best one I've seen. Congratulations.

This is one of best uses of space I've seen in a tiny home. Nice work.

This is THE best laid out arrangement I’ve ever seen. Your use of space is fabulous. One of my biggest complaints is the waisted space, particularly in small units. Drawers & cabinets leave so much space unused.

you already know that this is THE BEST looking DIY RV on the planet. No question. I had a 6.0 2003 stolen out of my driveway that was bulletproofed etc but I replaced it with a 2012

You can do whatever you want if you have a good soul mate. Sharing the life together at the nature with your wife, kids, dog and this great vehicle, do not make you old. I am so jealous now.

It's hard to believe this was a pickup truck. Amazing. It seems so big in the inside, considering. Really awesome.

I love the pass through. I have been pricing out doing this, but can't afford the van/truck. But U-haul trucks are cheap, so with the passthrough, it makes a U-haul conversion on the table. Thanks!

I got hooked on videos like this. One of the best designs I seen for a truck. I think they have every thing they need.

Wetsuits hanging in the shower was an eyesore. Overall, this couple has done an awesome job.

Nice. That's smart putting the bike up higher. Makes it safer. Pass through for safty. Like that the bed is not so close to the ceiling.

Using SIPS (Structural Insulated Panels) is a natural for these RVs. Glad to see you went this route. The beauty of them is they can be made up to 8'x24", and various thickness. They are inherently stiff/strong and bear all sorts of load. And of course, it is completely insulated. You can cut windows/doors, etc., and within reason, not endanger the structural integrity.
