Big Joe Turner - Honey Hush (1953)

Big Joe Turner is a lesser known rock and roll artists from the early 1930s - 1950s that is a big part of early rock and roll. He started out with Jazz Blues in 1939 on Vocalion with Pete Johnson. Immediately following this record, he got one record on Parlaphone. In 1940, he signed onto Decca Records. In 1943 didn't cut a record for the entire year (Most likely to the Shellac Shortages) In 1944, he did another record on Parlaphone, From 1945 - 1947 he would do records on National Records and a few more on Decca. After 1947, he didn't cut again until 1951 when he got a record on Okeh.

Following this, he signed onto Atlantic Records. from 1952 - 1954 he would have some early rock and roll hits on there like Honey Hush in 1953, Shake Rattle And Roll in 1954, Flip Flop And Fly in 1954, and Still In Love in 1952, In 1956 he would get a hit called Corrine Corina too. From there on, he would start to fade out and eventually fall out of view. He would remain on Atlantic until 1965 and didn't have any more hits.
