Warning: do NOT buy a ASUS TUF ATX 3.0 PSU shown in this video, they all have a manufacturing defect where the fan will spin at 100% at nonsensical times, trust me I have been through two of these and everyone online reports the same, STAY AWAY FROM ALL ASUS TUF ATX 3.0 PSUs!!!’

NEVER cheap out on the psu, because that could be the difference between your build working or it blowing up

The Define series deserves some respect. There are not a lot of cases come that are as solidly built & with as many features as they do.

For AM5, you definitely don’t need x870. The only upgrade is it adds a single USB 4.0 header

Funny thing is the fractal case you have pictured front center has really good airflow

Feel like 750W is where it’s at, gives you headroom to upgrade to better components

It should be noted that for RAM, this only applies to desktop sticks. For a notebook upgrade, the absolute minimum latency for DDR5 (at least from what I've found) is around 38 ns.
Edit: even for desktop sticks, the capacity makes a difference: a higher capacity will automatically have a higher minimum latency. A 16 GB stick can start at a CL of 28, and a 32 GB starts at 30. But if you have your eye on a certain model, before making any decision, you need to check it against the QVL for compatibility, which can be found on the motherboard website.

I always recommend at least 850w incase for upgrade paths when you eventually get a stronger gpu/cpu.

I upgraded for rtx 2070 to a 4060 ti about a year ago and my computer runs really good. I have a i9 9900k 64gb of ram and i play on a 144hz 1440p monitor. I get pretty decent fps all around

The fractal XL case has fully open top and bottom vents, with all intakes filtered, the front is a little restricted but those front vents are very wide and the mesh filter is on the inside and not at those vents on the front. I have no idea how anyone would describe that case as having crap airflow

Don't even really need to overclock anymore, undervolting usually provides much more benefit, especially on power-hungry chips that are prone to thermal throttling.

I want an X670E not just for overclocking. But also the option to have 3-4 M.2 and alot more stuff.

Don't skimp, get the 486. DOSSHELL runs flawlessly and Zork is a beast on a green monochrome screen

When you buy things — not just PC parts — trust yourself and get what you actually need.

do not buy your PSU just off the 80+ or Cybernetics rating, they rate nothing but efficiency. use the PSU tier list from SPL instead
