On TV in a British program 1976

It was unique because of the shape of the handle and the ring that prevents the blade from folding


Now 2023 I want a size number 9 badly😆

I've got the opinel No12 and the No8, with the carbon steel blades, and they are sharp, and easy to keep sharp, the No8 I use for everyday carry because it's so light and the blade locks well great for slicing tomatoes apples etc, I don't use the No12 much, stays in my tool box mostly but it is a serious knife, also light and strong, the only issue I have is when the wood gets wet it tends to swell making it difficult to open sometimes, but because of how good these blades are I overlook that slight hiccup

Might want one for the novelty value but I can't imagine who'd NEED one. Not much real world use for a folder this big. Now a folding saw of similar size might be practical, I believe Opinel makes those too.

I used to carry one of these, it partially opened in my pocket and I sliced the hell out of my hand, very sharp and very impractical

now one thing, large folding blades ussualy are ussualy even or larger in handle to blade size, making them having long handles, and slightly shorter blades, this essentialy makes them polearms, folding blades of massive size are NOT folding Swords, rather folding Axes or Glaives
