I watched few of your konmari videos and then realized you're doing things right now and still "journeying". Me and my spouse started with the method few weeks ago and we are just about to hit the komono section. I'm quite lucky because both of us are very much on board with decluttering and we are determined to severely reduce our possessions. Oh god, it was great to hear the papers were hellish to somebody else too! We live in a small apartment (two rooms, kitchen and bathroom, plus few closets) and I'm still amazed with the amount of stuff we have thrown away. I can really understand the tired feeling you spoke about whe all one can see is piles of stuff waiting to be gone. Sometimes I must go and see our walk-in closet just to experience the positive change that comes with decluttering in the end. Thankfully we carted few boxes worth of stuff away yesterday and this morning so I can actually see our floor again. Yay for that! It's interesting to hear from your journey and I believe I'll be keeping eye on your next video. Thank you and good luck with the rest of the house. You've done so much allready and you can do the rest too! Warm virtual hugs from our family!

I DO like an Irish accent ;) :) !! But I am also impressed how early on you found and implemented konmari/Marie Kondo's tips and philosophy - I am so grateful to have stumbled upon her Netflix Show - what a game-changer!! And now that I've binge-watched the heck out of it, konmari youtube-videos are my daily go-to!! Thank you!!

Congrats on the Irish blog acknowledgement!

I found that with some categories, I whittled things down but didn't really like what was left either. A real hazard with clothes. Budget doesn't permit additional items right now, so like you I'm treating it as my first go through. I also found that having a vision for my final 'look' was critical to reigniting my momentum. It's a different action from purging so refreshes. Good luck with the linens.

I've just completed clothing and will do books next week. There is a KonMari app that I use which helps a lot with the sub-categories. I haven't looked into komono yet but for the rest it looks quite detailed.

Instead of buying things you could buy experiences. Threat yourself by going to a nice restaurant, getting a massage, going to cinema, getting a haircut...I don't do Konmari as such, but I buy one new very versatile piece of something (clothes, make up, stationary) after having given away most of that very category of items. Because at this moment I am hyper aware of what I want and need.

I know this is an older video, but currently binge watching your journey with the Konmari method. I have read both books and getting stuck in! MY problem is the hoarder hubby. How did you go about getting your hubby on board or did you just focus on your stuff?

I got bogged down with paper. A lot of it is sentimental. I've got a great deal more than other people. And I feel I need to go through all the magazines.
So I moved on to komono. Need to finish the kitchen.

P.S. inside the cupboards is what .matters. If they are a mess you can't put stuff away.
