Can we talk about how Maia legit puts so much work into her, well, work but also feels like a real person, like she is? Lots of singers and dancers often feel like they just work all the time and nothing else but Maia feels like a normal young adult who isn't famous but then she produces pieces of art like this. She adds in the normal gen z humor and the work of someone working for years upon years. I applaud her for that and if she's reading, I applaud you. You are a really talented person and I can definitely see you going way, way farther than where you're at now.

I think its interesting how she tends the acknowledge her past self and smile at her, but not once did she look at her older self. I think that it reflects that she never can predict the future, and that she 's still looking at the past. The same goes how the older self is interacting with the kid still, suggesting that she misses the days of her youth. I love this music video!

the lights mimic the time of day! she wakes up and its darker with one bright light (sunrise) and it goes into her childhood with the morning lights, and then midday lights, we see flashbacks to the older woman and shes dancing in the dark (night time?) and then its afternoon when they all dance together and then its maia alone at sunset. i cant stop listening to this song and i cant stop watching the video. i want to paint every frame of this.

AS A DANCER THIS IS BEAUTIFUL. The way you danced was so natural because it wasn’t so technical and included SO many styles which perfectly reflected the lyrics. The choreography with the little girl and then the older self was beautiful OML IM IN LOVE MAIA ☁️💞💗

I really like how beautiful this song is. Like, no, it’s not beautiful in a way that renders you speechless, it isn’t the kind of beauty that would knock all the wind out of you, the kind that feels better to be appreciated from afar than to come too close for comfort. It’s not beautifully unnattainable and out-of-reach enough to be put on a pedestal. It’s... astoundingly normal. It’s comforting in a way that it feels... _realer_ than anything I’ve ever seen before. In this day and age polluted with filters and tapered with fantasy, it’s relieving to finally see something that just _enjoys_ existing, one that doesn’t try to escape reality nor distort it, but rather embrace it for what it really is to them. This song doesn’t make me feel like I owe the world my uniqueness as a person like other types of media nowadays tend to do, it helps me allow myself to be... normal. To just exist however I want. Everyone expects themselves to be special that they often forget that they don’t have to be. My sincerest apologies if it seems I read too much into this song, but I’d like to thank mxmtoon for existing however she wants. And for this song. And for everyone else out there who, maybe, at one point, just allowed themselves to exist.
