Slow Food Sunday - The Reuben Sandwich

Here's my Reuben Sandwich recipe. There are a lot of takes on the Reuben and keep in mind that when I'm cooking, I'm cooking for 6 people in our family. That might be why there are only two slices of Montreal smoked meat on this sandwich.

Sauce Recipe:
1/4 Onion finely chopped
4-5 small pickles course chopped
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp pepper

For the sandwich:
Homemade sauce (as above)
Sauteed white onions (we used 2)
Montreal Smoked Meat (or Corned Beef)
Sauerkraut
Provolone Cheese
Rye Bread (add mayonnaise on the outside of the bread to help get that golden toasted crunch)

Wonderfully season pan you have there.... hate the fact I know more than I wanted to about cleaning, prepping and seasoning cast iron. my mom did that for awhile and resold them. Making the etank was fun though.

Looks great!! If you wanna make that Lodge pan even better, take a flap disc on a angle grinder to the cooking surface. You can get nearly all of the roughness out that way and it will be smooth as butta!
