Serendipity brought me to your pre-CIM video. I tracked your progress on the CIM app. You started the first half well. The second half was a challenge, but that's CIM. To run your first CIM in the elite division is impressive.

Tabor fans are everywhere! I love hearing you say "roads compliment trails and trails compliment the road marathon" - congrats on the year and can't wait to what you and Eli have on tap for 2025!

Great racing! I also had to duck into the potty, which is a rarity for me in a marathon. CIM was my first marathon since turning 70 in October, and I was hoping for an age group win. At mile 14 I decided I'd lose more time running the next 12 miles uncomfortably than I'd lose in the potty. I made the right decision. Finished in 3:32 and won my AG by about 7 minutes.

off topic but your dog is so patient while doing the race recap :) Great effort despite the setbacks & really enjoy your channel. Look forward to 2025!

I'm sure there's more on the table, but I think you did great! I checked for your time right after the race, and I thought 2:36 was pretty darn good for a road marathon debut, and that was before I'm now hearing about your stomach issues. Thank you to both of you for creating this excellent content. Happy holidays.

You still ran so fast! Way to tough it out. Keep inspiring!

Oh that sucks I hate it when your stomach goes let alone in a marathon. Good on you for digging deep and finishing! Hope you guys have a great break and can't wait to see what's up for next year. 😊

Thank you for sharing your first CIM experience with us! Please come back and race Quad Dipsea into CIM next year! We call it “the double bastard” for folks who compete in both:)

That’s a great time considering the gut issues along with the porta potty stop. All kinds of variables to tweak and practice in training

Enjoyed hearing about this, even if the stomach didn't cooperate. Sactown looked foggy! Cheers

You didn’t get the real CIM experience, standing in line all the way around the capital when it is 40 degrees and raining, getting stuck in the porta potty line at the start in Folsom when your wave is going and nearly getting hit by a car coming out of their driveway in Fair Oaks cause they are pissed that the race is going on, even though it happens every year. They do donate all of the discarded clothing from the start and at the aid stations, thankfully. Also, I am thankful that you brought up the issue of cycles. We don’t talk about that enough, or at all, and it really does impact our racing. One more obstacle that women face that men have the privilege to not have on their radar. Glad you were able to push through without an incident on course.

Road racing is a different beast from the trails. Running my first half marathon felt harder honestly than running my first 25k on the trails. Mad respect for absolutely cooking that course! 🫡🙌
