I just bought this as a secondary computer to my built one. Honestly All I need is a note taker during college classes and something to organize and work on random google docs on, so its perfect! (Plus it only cost me $129)

Hey Greg, You commented on the laptops' minecraft preformance. A simple solution is installing Optifine for minecraft helps a lot. I went from 30-40 fps to 50-70 avg

Honestly I need so admit that this is kind an awesome device. I'd probably use ArchLinux on it since it's more budget PC friendly, but for the case of my MacBook Pro Retina fucking up and me having to buy a new laptop for university, because I need to write papers and shit, that would be some nice thing to have. Just to get through the time having too little money for a new MBP. (For the following commenting persons: Yes, I'm using a Mac and No, you don't have to insult me for it. I'm not a fanboy or shit like that.)

You can use SSH or remote desktop to access your desktop from this laptop. I wouldn't game that way, but for video editing, it could work.

Bought this for University work, already own a £8-900 desktop, but this is perfect for my needs. Plus, it plays a couple classics like Fallout 1+2, Diablo 2, Age of Empires 2; what more do you really need?

Since multi-touch gestures don't work, is there any other way to scroll with just the trackpad that doesn't involve dragging the bar at the side of the page? (I know some laptops scroll when you slide your finger up and down on the right edge of the trackpad)

Thinking of getting this for college, since most of my budget is already going to my new 1070.
So about the battery life, does it last that long in medium brightness, or did you have to lower the brightness to almost zero?
I have a y50 with 4 hours promised battery life, but it couldnt even reach 2 hours unless my brightness is super low, and i could barely see what i typed or found on google. And it feels flimsy and heavy cause its 15 inch.
