Good thing its got an ultra smooth finish, because mechanic's fingers are seldom oily.

I have these and while I don't use them every day, I find that the gimbal feature is good for giving you just a bit more grip for really stuck fasteners in places where you can't swing a ratchet because the handle will be in the way. Turn the gimbals just enough so you can get your hand wrapped around them better. These have saved me some headaches in the past.

Yes, it's a gimmick, but not as bad as others in the tool world.

Ultimately the purpose of tools is to extract money from customers. That being the goal pointless features can be selling points.

I bought one years ago but after 5 minutes I realized having the gimbal served no purpose - I always turned it straight on. So now it sits in my box of tools to be donated. It’s an answer to a question that nobody asked.

They actually are handy in some situations I have the husky version.

I confess I love Gimmicky Tools even though most of them are useless and I never use with Multi-Tools, almost never as good as single purpose tools but I still love to be clear I got most of mine as gifts or bought on clearance for a Buck or Two, I would never spend much money on that worthless stuff.
