Very nice video. The hotel looks quite nice. However i do notice something different at the 3:30 mark the area of the beach right in front and even down the beach used to be all rock where the people are standing in the water from the hurricanes over the years that have washed away the sand. Now it looks like its all sand again. We are considering this hotel or possibly Melia Las Americas just down the shoreline. Looks like there was a decent variety of food. Did you have any major issues while visiting? Thank you. Greetings from Toronto.

Thank you for the lovely comment. We love this resort. There was a good variety of food at the buffet and the À la carte restaurants were pretty good. Every day between 1-3, I ate bbq burgers and hotdogs at the beach grill... Delicious.

tja, niet erg veel veranderd in 25 jaar! vloog vroeger regelmatig met Martinair (Starclass) naar/van Varadero (voordat Havana een bestemming werd). 's Avonds aankomst; huurauto en overnachten in Melia Varadero met de volgende dag een strandwandeling naar villa Xanadu van du Pont de Nemours! Toen nog behoorlijk verwaarloosd.Goede herinneringen...

There is kind of a swim up bar.... There are tables between the pool and bar but they will bring you drinks at the pool and you can drink there as well...no seats in pool to sit only standing.

Doesn’t look like many palapas on the beach? Any bug issues inside or outside the hotel?

The only issue I had would be trying to get cash from my bank accounts.... Bring more than enough cash with you if you plan on shopping.
