A Jang review is never late, nor is it early. It arrives precisely when it means to!

I'm not even all the way through the video yet, but I had to pause to say this video is a prime example of why Jang is the only reviewer I watch on a regular basis. The flow, pacing, and attention to detail are just so excellent! (The set looks really good, too. :) )

Wise words from Jang:
"One does simply lift it from the tree and place it else where.

As someone not into LOTR, this seems like it would be "worth" $500, but too rich for my blood. Gorgeous set for all the Castle fans and LOTR fans.

Let’s take a sec to appreciate Jang’s vocabulary in just the first 60s of this review. It’s such a joy to hear a reviewer who is so thoughtful about their word choice 🎉

13:13 I believe the ship scene depicts Eärendil sailing to Valinor on his ship Vingilotë to beseech the Valar on behalf of the people of Middle Earth to help stop the dark lord Morgoth, and the second is the hidden city of Gondolin, destroyed in the First Age.

This set is beautiful I need it in my life, I am one of the small margin of people haha, but the hefty price necessitates many months of saving up! I’m happy though because if Jang thinks its a good set then my trepidation in buying it has been put to bed for sure.

I'm not a huge LOTR fan, and definitely not a fan of super pricey Lego sets - but this set really seemed to hit it out of the park. Looks fantastic, amazing attention to detail and if you're even slightly interested in LOTR it just calls to you. Thanks JANG for the amazing Twitch build streams and review of this!

I had the privilege of building this model for our LEGO store's display, and it was a marvel from start to finish. Yes, those roof tiles, but it's not half bad if you just stick YouTube on or listen to music and get lost in it. As a LEGO fan with limited space, time and money, I will never get to build a set anywhere close to this big ever again, so when they asked who wanted to build it I jumped at the opportunity, and I definitely see it as a milestone in my journey with LEGO despite the fact I didn't actually own the set!

This set has some of the most impressive build techniques that I personally have ever seen especially on the gazebo & main building roofs, the designer should be extremely proud of just how clever & unique their work is

A pure masterwork of Lego design, that's what this set is.

The two pictures on the top half are Gondolin, the elf city where Elrond lived as a child and the boat is Eärendil's ship I believe.

I viewed the kind of tan ground near the forge as a pine needle-covered ground.

I hope we get more lord of the rings sets - when the original batch came out back in the day, I was all over it. It fills the space of castle sets with plenty of inventive and exciting scenes. But this one, despite its beauty, seems too far out of my price range, I’m afraid.

Now this, THIS, is the review I've been waiting for on this set! I know you've mentioned your passion not necessarily being the review side of Lego (as opposed to the building side), but man, I loved- LOVED- your detailed and in-depth commentary and insights into this set! Thank you, sir- I think you've really sold me on this set!

This is easily one of if not my favorite lego set. It’s so huge and it’s presence on a shelf is fantastic. Every time I have guests over they can’t stop staring at it. It’s expensive for sure, but the build process, the figures, the details, and the enjoyment I’m going to get from looking at it for years and years more than make up for that

I split the build of this over many nights and re watched the full extended edition of all of the LoTR films at the same time.

One of the best building experiences I've ever had and I paced it to really enjoy the build. Some very very clever techniques.

Personally I'm a LoTR fan and can afford it but I can honestly say zero regrets on this one and it never felt over priced compared to other sets/things.

While I wasn’t too thrilled when it was announced the first official LOTR set we’d be getting after around 9 years since the last Middle-Earth LEGO sets came out was going to be a larger scaled Rivendell, this is a very gorgeous set.

The build is fantastic, the mini-figures are fantastic, and the movie scene references are fantastic. If any expensive D2C LEGO set was worth its price, it’s this set. Now I know $500 is still expensive, but like I said this Rivendell set fits the price; especially compared to that Black Panther bust and that giant Hulkbuster set.

Now, while I would like to save up for this set, there was another D2C LOTR set that was leaked that I am much most interested in. That set being the Barad-Dur set, which is supposed to come with our first proper Sauron mini-figure. The leaks right now are only that the set is in production, and I have heard that the potential release of the Barad-Dur set hinges on the success of the Rivendell set. So if that’s truly going to be the case, I really hope the success of this set meets LEGO’s expectations, that way we can finally get Barad-Dur and Sauron, as well as get a true relaunch of the LOTR line in the future.
