As a North Carolinian, these developments are very exciting. Republicans made a disastrous mistake when they propelled Mark Robinson to the top of the ticket. Had they pushed for a more moderate, boring candidate for Governor, I feel like we wouldn’t be having this discussion, but because Robinson is so extreme, even for MAGA standards, it’s bringing out a lot of voters who may have stayed home otherwise. It’s definitely not a guarantee that Harris will win the state, since NC has been split before with a Republican Presidential win and Democrat Governor like we saw with Trump and Cooper, but there’s a real possibility that Harris actually flips the state in November.
