Показать описание
Learn how to play "Wild World" by Cat Stevens... how to strum it in the simplest way possible and how to add those melodic runs (basic guitar scales), in order to make it sound like the original recording. It uses basic chords, exclusively, so if you play it without the scales, it's actually a fairly simple tune.

► And don't forget to grab your copy of my free eBook:

The lesson begins with some chord shapes: Am, D, G, C, F (the barre chord AND the easy version), Dm, E7)
We practice switching between them, being sure to make the switches as easy and simple as possible. We use them in verse, playing downstrokes only, to get everything in the right order.
The strumming pattern for this one is pretty simple. Rhythmically, there's nothing challenging about it. The only thing with this song is that there's quite a few chord shapes. We work on it all slowly, and then we put it together and play through the verse.
We can add a lick to the verse that's quite easy... just plucking a couple notes on the D string. I show you how to do that and then I show you how to practice it so you can integrate it into the verse.
Next we learn the chorus, which has a few less shapes, nothing new here. We practice it using downstrokes only to get everything in the right order and then we add the strumming pattern to it.
Finally, we add a couple licks to the chorus. The first one is a descending C major scale. That sounds tough or technicaly, but really it's just a couple notes on each string. We break it down and we practice it thoroughly.
Once you have that one up to speed, we take a look at the other lick in the chorus; it's a bit simpler.. just a couple notes. Once again we break it down, we practice it up, we integrate it into the tune, practice going into it and then coming out of it.
Finally, we play through the intermediate version of the tune with all of the licks added.
I hope you enjoy the lesson! See you soon!
