I grew up near the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. I remember my Grandaddy and Mama sitting and talking about stories of witches in the mountains around there. A lot of people might not be able to understand you but to me you talk like my family. I understand you just fine. Love you❤️❤️❤️

Green witch here…i have been learning and working since I was 12 and now I am 33 or 34 i dont keep up with it too much but I just wanted to do a search on stories of my craft of old and listen. It is beautifully interesting because I feel as the elder women of the woods…I am in Kentucky deep in a holler an it is about to snow. Thank u for telling the old stories I really appreciate it u tell them well..I can visualize and sometimes even smell the house of the elders…taste the dew of the forest and hear the cats howl. Me myself have three of the whisker biscuits hanging around my house…I have no mice. Its a great life here in the deep of the woods…even the mailman can’t find me haha anyway I am new to this channel so it is a pleasure to listen. Thnk u much

Oh my goodness, you had me at hello. My mother used to tell me these old folk legends. My ancestors are from Oklahoma, Tennessee and Kentucky and they were all herbalist’s, dowsers and see’ers, etc. I have followed them and I know there is truth to every legend. Thank you for these stories. Love your voice and your way

My grandpa used to do things like this to help cure people and remove any pain they had. I always heard it called faith. Anytime anything was wrong people would call him or go see him. I even had it done to me more than a few times. I was told he was the 7th son of a 7th son. If you want to know more just let me know. We’re from Eastern Ky, grew up in the Appalachian Mountains. The old ways seem to be gone now.

I had a bunch of warts on my hands, as a child. My grandmother said she would take care of it. She took a piece of wood, and carved 1 notch for each, about the same size. She told me to go into the house, and she hid the wood. She said when the wood rots away, the warts would be gone. They were. Fast forward... I did that for my step daughter and my sister in law. Theirs went away too.

New sub, here. Your accent sounds like my great-grandmother's. We called her Granny Cat because she wore cat eye glasses. She was born and raised, married and had a family in Comfort, WV. She made the family move away when the coal mine my great-grandfather and their oldest, my grandfather, worked in collapsed and broke great-grandpa's back, killed their buddies. Great-grandpa died with black lung when I was 5. He was probably only in his 60's but looked ancient to me. Granny Cat never talked much. I wish I could go back in time and ask her about her life. It never occurred to me to do that until long after it was too late. I like to think I'm finally hearing stories she would have known. Thank you for telling them.

Wise women. Granny women. Mountain witches.
My great aunt could stop bleeding and remove warts. I went to see her at 13 yrs old about a bump that had appeared on the thumb of my left hand. It was painful. She told me not to worry and get a good night's sleep that night. When I woke up that next morning...no bump. She was a good lady. Never missed Sunday meeting.

I just stumbled across your channel & I'm hooked. I grew up (and still live) in Eastern Kentucky on the border with West Virginia. I grew up listening to the elders in my family talk about "Appalachian witches" and "Granny Magic." I really enjoy everything I've listened to so far. Keep up the good story telling. Be blessed.

The storm came through last night and I listened to your witch stories till I fell asleep. Your sayings are just like the ones I grew up hearing…for instance bled like a stuck hog… every one my mama and Daddy said. Thank you for keeping these alive. People look at me strange when I use them but I still do. My grandchildren love for me to tell them stories and I’m gonna share yours with them. Thank you sir. ❤️

Listening to you tell these stories reminds me so much of my Mawmaw. Your dialog is exactly the way she talked. Sweetest soul I've ever known. I miss her so much.

We have three different witches in my family. One that can stop blood, my grand mother, one that can blow the fire out of bad burns, my great aunt, and one that can charm warts, that would be me! I never thought of us as witches but this has made me think! I can also tell you what a baby will be by looking at the expecting mother, get rid of splitters without a needle. I have gotten warts off of hundreds of people in my life time!
