Pray for the Faithful Departed this Day! - All Souls' Day 2024

On November 2 of each year, The Catholic Church observes The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, otherwise better known as All Souls' Day. It is on this day that we honor those who have passed on from this life, as we pray that they may be purified before entering into the Kingdom of Heaven! So today, be sure to offer up your prayers for your own departed loved ones, as well as the souls suffering in Purgatory!

Our prayers appointed for that day serve as a reminder that we are joined with the Communion of Saints that is mentioned in the Creed , the unity and cooperation of the members of the Church on earth , the militants church , the souls in purgatory known as the Church penitent or suffering , and that great group of faithful Christians ✝️ believers who have finished their earthly life triumphantly , these represent the Church triumphant who are known by the Church as well as those Saints known only to God .

It is very important that we pray for the souls in purgatory , especially as none of us knows a person's final judgment by God at death 😢 . Together , all these three states of the Church help us to understand and widen our spiritual relationship with God before and after death .

On November 2nd, a Plenary Indulgence can be received for the souls in Purgatory by visiting a church or an oratory and reciting an Our Father and the Creed today. A plenary indulgence remits all temporal punishment due to sin. It must always be accompanied by a full detachment from sin.

I think prayers for the dead are very important. I always give a card from the Marians or the Sacred Heart with the promise of prayers for the departed. There is no greater gift for the dead than prayer.

Great tutorial on ALL Souls and Purgatory, Brother Alex! Basic truths of Catholicism unfortunately not given via homilies at Mass. All we get is Pablum and Social Do Good preaching. If people don't understand the basic truths of their Catholic faith, how can they correctly practice their Catholic faith? Most Catholics in the pews today are very ignorant of their faith. They have a very watered down, Protestantized version of Holy Communion. They are clueless on Transubstantiation. I believe the numbers are only 30% of Catholics believe in the real presence of Our Lord in Holy Communion. That is extremely sad and due to horrible catechesis and Pablum for homilies over the last 50 years or so.

If Adolf Hitler can still achieve heaven through our prayers and sacrifices
Why is there people still go to hell as Padre Pio sees in his vision (truly sad) can we still save other souls who are going to hell before its too late
