Building wealth with dividend investing, in general, is a long and tedious climb uphill, but getting your dividend portfolio to that first $100k specifically is a struggle. However, once you reach that point, everything after comes a lot easier thanks to the dividend snowball effect. In this video, we'll talk about why your dividend snowball explodes after $100k, and will share how long it might take you to reach that point in your own dividend investing journey.

Hit $100k this week, $80k of it is from my contributions. Been extremely aggressive the last 4 months dumping $2k per month, been living very frugally to achieve this. I can't wait to see how 2024 goes

The first $100K was the hardest, my contributions SLOWLY grew. After the $100K mark something clicked in my head. It's almost addictive. The Dividends are great, but I've found myself becoming more frugal with other stuff so that I have more to invest every month just to see the increase in growth. It took 5yrs to get to $100k and only 2 and a half to get to $200K and looks like about 1.5 yrs to get to $300K. Weird huh? The growth is ridiculous! January will see almost $3K in dividends alone.

The dividend snowball effect is so powerful, the strongest tool we have is time, the earlier we start the better, the sooner we can hit the $100k mark even better! I'm working on getting some finances under control and hope I can contribute a lot more around the middle of next year going forward! Hope you're well man!

Good video with good advice. I started early and am currently in my 40s and just passed 900k. The biggest mistake I have made along the way is being afraid to buy when prices were low, and then waiting in hopes they would drop again. It probably cost me a good 20% over the years

I hit 100K in October 2023. Been in stocks since 2005. Been off and on with it, came back serious in 2018. The snowball truly gets better and better over time (keep re-investing those dividends into stocks)!

100k is a great goal, keep going everyone, but also, here's a reality check:
Munger said it in the 90s, and he meant that 100k is a life-changing barrier to surpass. Given 30 years of inflation since, the updated life-changing amount is ca. 200k.
Nevertheless, happy investing everyone. I'm at 80k.

I have several mental concepts that fire me up on investment and compounding. One is, (im
A cross country truck driver) the miles I drove 3 years ago…im still getting paid on. I gave myself a raise in perpetuity so to speak. Every Tuesday I give myself another raise. 48 raises a year compounded.

Do not beat yourself up about how much or when you did or did not.

Just. Keep. Going.

Great video, always insightful brother... Serious growth it seems when certain milestones are hit in any field... I felt it in investing at the $100K mark as well as in the fitness space, running and reading over the years... momentum begets momentum!

That $100k-$200k mark is key. More than ready for my wealth to explode.

I like how you slipped "Cross the Rubicon" in there. Not really an accurate reference but still I like it. Good old Gaius

I am learning your lesson first hand with my online account. It's taken me two and a half years of seriously steady contributions to reach $40K. But my old retirement account grew $48, 000 in the past year, alone. It's a humbling experience -- starting out fresh is not easy. It takes patience 🙏

Just getting and maintaining that first $10, 000 dollars can be very difficult. Emergencies pop up you need a thousand fast, you're back down to $9, 000 and so on. This is a very difficult process, just getting from 10k to 20k is a milestone!

You're absolutely right. I hit the $$$ and I think most of the progress has been made in the past months. Just keep focused and never give up! The snowball will start rolling.

I hit 100K in 2020 during COVID, 3 years later 360K. Dividend income now sits at $18, 750/yr

My portfolio is $87k and my monthly contribution is $1k so I should reach the $100k mark by this time next year. I just missed out on $5k dividends after tax. I am now aiming for $500 per month in dividends but currently it is heavily loaded into MJSD.

Invested my first thousand at 14 I am 18 now and have about 25k, about 87% is contributions, started college so won't be investing much until my first paid internship, probably after sophmore year. Genuinely makes me excited to hear someone else get excited about this investing strategy, hard to stay focused with a lot of the noise on the internet, and wanting to buy a camaro :/
