Throwing DART(s) at Asteroids: NASA's Planetary Defence Mission

Every day, Earth is bombarded with more than 100 tons of dust and sand-sized particles, and some of these can have devastating effects on the Earth and life NASA's DART Mission was designed to test our ability to deflect an asteroid and alter its trajectory. In this talk, we shall discuss the threats of an asteroid impact and possible methods to save the planet. DART was a first such successful attempt and will be discussed in detail.
