Let's look at the list of websites that the Australian Federal Police requested ISP's to block last week. I then learn more about the process that government agencies are required to following be reading an article from Computerworld. It appears that the ISP's didn't meet all their requirements.

This is why a VPN is now standard practice for internet browsing for intelligent people.

Vote One Nation to save free speech. She is the only politician I have heard support Julian Assange and Tommy Robinson who are being persecuted for telling the truth. This is the reason they also attack One Nation. Terrifying times, We speak up now and join the global fight against censorship or our tongues and fingers will be removed forever.

Im from Australia. Just checked a heap of those urls. No bans here. Actually appreciate a few of those links :)
Its the main 2 Optus and Telstra that are blocking. If you use one of the smaller ISPs they dont block anything.

I have my internet thru Foxtel - and having been on a number of these sites since the NZ event, I can categorically state I did not have ANY issues getting on ANY of the sites, many of which were the very sites people were firing up about on social media about having "being blocked in Oz".

TPG hasn't banned any of these sites. I rang support and specifically asked if they were and they said "No".

Protecting public revenue, I wonder how many on line gambling sites are on that block list? I remember when the ACMA's censor list was leaked and there were online gambling sites included

Slowly Australia is becoming the new China. If that's the case why not tell Huawei to build the great Australian firewall instead since Telstra, Optus, and VodafoneAustralia all use Huawei equipment in their LTE networks anyway.

It's odd that I can't find any news article on these sites being blocked because AFP demands. The stories out there all the telcos blocking sites voluntarily.

I cant access any of these sites. Thanks NZ.

Telstra said this was a voluntary decision made by them, but maybe they are lying. I never saw a notice when attempting to access some of these blocked websites.
