Churches in Cyprus are packed
every week not just holidays
the monastries are also full for
public services. The church is
the centre of village life especially
that holds the whole community
together. The priest in our
church is like a member of the
family; he christened me,
conducted the marriage of my
sister & buried my mother and
father and he knew my grandfather
who I never got to meet.
He knows our history intimately.
When someone dies in our
village the next morning the
church bell tolls to let us know.
Growing up in England, I didn't
realise the importance of the
church and what I was missing
until I came to live here ❤

Almost every man, woman and child was able in part to articulate with such clarity and integrity that Bob does. This country is a now a nation of dummies.
