For all those who are wondering what happened...

when you accidentally drop a piece while playing, You're supposed to rearrange it before pressing the clock. He accidentally drops his King twice and pressed the clock without fixing the pieces. In this case, the opponent can complain to the arbiter. But since he didn't, Hikaru resigned after the second mistake.

That's why the opponent says "It's Fine" because it was just a mistake and he wouldn't mind keep playing. But Hikaru gave him the win.

That handshake along with the smile is a reason to like Hikaru. It takes a lot of self respect to be able to behave like that. Kudos.

Artemiev has such a golden personality! Tbh! he's the most humble GM I've ever seen...

This really shows growth of maturity. Upset about the loss but quickly ignores it to reaffirm his opponent that they deserved the win and shook his hand with respect.

That last handshake, you can tell hikaru is giving him respect, like he’s not just making it seem like the only reason the game conclude was because hikaru was “giving” it to him. It was truly a hard fought match between 2 great players

GM Vladislav Artemiev is a true gentleman! When I won against him in the European Rapid Chess Championship, he congratulated me and talked to me after the game, although I was 2320 at that time and he was 2810... That's what chess is all about, in my opinion!

Old Naka wouldn't have done that. Glad to see he's a lot mature.

This is all because Vladi shows such empathy. What a super GM he was. But u cant take away Hikaru accepting that respect. More of this videos please. CLASS at its finest.

Big respect to Artemiev for not bitching about Hikaru's mistake and to Hikaru for resigning after messing up the second time. True sportsmanship in that match

Hikaru never cares for the handshake, he always does it like obligated, but when he sees his opponent was like "keep playing, i don't mind", he knew his opponent deserved a real handshake.

The way he feels bad, the “its fine”. Warms my heart. Bcz most enemies would have taken that mistake in their favour but he didnt he kept playing. 😊

The King resigned twice already before Hikaru surrendered 😂

Incredible empathy by Artemiev. He is not a streamer or someone with internet followers but the man is really a great person, so much dignity a great example for everyone.
