My scales are warmed up for well over 30 days waiting for powder. I am going to need to clean the dust off with some leftover COVID bleach wipes when the powder gets here? 😃

I'd like to see a trickle test and how good they are at weighing powder that has slowly been added

This scale is the one that finally broke me. My hornady G2 died Christmas eve, I had the week off after Christmas and planned to do a lot of shooting. Not wanting to wait a week I went to Cabela's and picked up the G3. Batteries in and it wasn't working! This would of been my third e-scale and I returned it and got a RCBS mechanical scale. It's the best thing I ever did. You do not save any time with electronic scales with all the messing around with them. Also, once you are set and want to random check during your loading it's actually faster, because you don't need to turn it on or zero the thing. Just dump it in the pan and watch the beam. No warming up, no calibration, no drift. I will never bother with e-scale again!

I'll bet that pocket scale will be great for the street medicine market... nothing like product accuracy in a pocket sized scale.

Great to see an item tested that the working man can afford !!

I got one of the Hornady G3 1500 Electronic scales. It does a very good job at coming of of zero when trickling in fine increments, and seems to hold its zero better than most other pocket scales. I also use the Lyman Brass Smith Powder Trickler, and between it and the Hornady G3 1500 Electronic Scale, weighing out powder charges is now quick and easy.

Box of 50 reloads fell out of cabinet landed on my RCBS, no worky no mo. Thanks for review. Oh, by the way. If it has a balance beam its a scale, if it is electronic it is a balance.

I did see a trickle test on another site and the pocket scale performed excellently. Also you can set the auto sleep timer to off so the unit stays on until you turn it off (to warm it up for how ever long you want)

I've got the smaller one and a quick tip is use the carat or the gram read out as they read to thousands the third value reads as 0 or 5 but it is just a bit of a finer reading than the grain display gives.

that A&D scale is an amazing piece of kit, i dont really care about the other scales now. need a new one after my RCBS was doing alot of drift even when full warmed up for more than an hour. i got tired of pulling apart cartridges.

How do the two Hornady scales do when adding powder a physical grain at a time with a trickler? Load cell scales usually suffer from some degree of shear lag in the strain gages (bonding adhesive actually), so don't respond, or respond slowly to very small increments of mass addition. Your A&D is a MFR balance I think, so should be almost no response lag. It would be useful since at least some users will use these for trickling powder charges for rifle ammo, and that lag or non-responsiveness can be an issue. Assessing time drift in zero shift and calibration shift is also useful information.

Beside all the poor timing remarks. I appreciate the knowledge. Yep, invested in my equipment and investing in my reloading equipment and knowledge gathering. Yes, still missing Primers but have gone to shows around the state and found the rest. I won't be kept from my goals because it's hard today. Thanks for your time. Keep searching and keep educated continually. Tomorrow you'll know better.

Have you done a review and accuracy test for the RCBS pocket scale? Love the content.

I recently got one of these M2 Digital Bench Scales. I had trouble trying to caibrate it as it wouldn't go past the 10gram weight. The scale didn't want to settle down at all. I got in touch with the retailer about it and am now just waiting for them to tell me what their supplier will say about it. A poor start to what appeared to be a promising digital scales.

So what's the point of one costing 4x the amount? For the same accuracy?

I would like to see this test done with a second, different powder in a very small amount - say, something fast-burning in the single digits of grains, in a cartridge where a few tenths can be the difference between maximum charge and serious overload. And I'd like to see that maximum charge trickled up to repeatably in 0.1 grain increments, stopping at every 0.1 grain and not skipping any digits like my Frankford Arsenal pocket scale sometimes does.

So I take it both of these scales don’t turn off like most do after 5 sec lol it’s always frustrating when they turn off every time you turn around . Appreciate your videos and knowledge
