In this video, we are covering the question, what is dot product? The dot product of two vectors can be calculated using the formulas:

𝑎∙𝑏=|𝑎||𝑏|𝑐𝑜𝑠θ or 𝑎∙𝑏=(𝑎𝑥)(𝑏𝑥)+(𝑎𝑦)(𝑏𝑦)

But what does this actually mean? Well, dot product is calculated by multiplying the magnitude of one vector by the magnitude of a second vector’s projection on the first vector! This video will outline how we determine the magnitude of the projection, and how this all comes together to give us our dot product formula!

Whats the point of projection and using costheta if you can directly multiply their scalars
