I'm in The Jam's video of When you're young in 1979.
I'm wearing the blue and red jacket with my old mates, Barry, Jon, and Troy.
I was 12 years old at the time and I'll always treasure that experience.

Even if reunions will not be the same, i guess the fans just want to see the group all together singing the same favorite songs..which is enough for them😊

He is very clever. Maybe it will happen one day as a once off? I just hope we're all alive to see it. I also would pay £1000 to it. The Jam was our youth lol... I will never forget.

Love the idea of a Style Council reunion ( even though he's not interested). Always underrated when people assess Weller's career particularly compared with the Jam. But the Council made some terrific pop music in the 80s which still stands up today i believe. Long Hot Summer, Ever Changing Moods, Shout to the top, You're the Best Thing, Wanted, Confessions 1, 2 & 3, Speak like a Child are amongst Weller's greatest songs. That band opened up Weller even more musically and without his time with the Council you don't get albums later on in his career like Wildwood, A Kind Revolution, Stanley Road, or songs like Its Written in the Stars, Have you made up your mind, One Tear, Above the Clouds etc

Weller wouldn't gain from it other than financially - he would be doing it for the Jam fans - many of whom, including myself, grew up loving the group AFTER their split - so it would our chance to see them in concert for the first and only time.

He talks about BB King & John Lee Hooker performing well into old age which is fair enough BUT they weren't Pop Stars like Weller was/is. I think once u have a profile and became famous when u were young, hip n handsome it makes it more difficult as u get older. Weller's always been associated with The Mod movement which puts a high worth on image n looks & that's probably why many fans find it hard to come to terms with his looks nowadays.

Interesting comment Paul made about the pedals question he said he didn`t have a clue, and yet pedals are your sound ... How is it possible that an artist is uninformed of the sound produced Is he withholding the truth or is he willing to let techs produce the sound he`s playing I`m dumb founded .... Is it posssible he doesn`t care about the sound ? If he`s willing to let the techs determine his sound then I don`t get it . I love Paul . He always controlled his sound and image. Was it not him all along or did others make him ?

That's a fair point but what would Weller himself gain from it artistically? He's just not that interested and would rather explore new ideas. I love The Jam too but I know I can always go back and listen to the back catalogue if i'm feeling nostalgic.

Weller could make more money from a one-off Jam gig today than he could make in 5 years of record sales, in my opinion. I personally would pay £1000 for a ticket.

The problem is Paul mate, The Jam did reunite in 2007 i believe.

P.W might think that he's repeating himself by writing a socially/politically song, but I think that people still need reminding unfortunately

I wonder if Paul uses the same brand natural chewing gum that John Lennon did? I'm a 'Juicy Fruit man myself'.

Weller hates nostalgia. He will never reform with the style council.
