Gosh it sure would be nice to have, you know, a recipe of some sort to go along with all those closeup shots of ingredients.

I'm so happy to be seeing more and more Puerto Rican content on Pero Like. I know you guys are west coast based so there's not a huge Puerto Rican community as compared to other Latinx groups. I love how Pero Like does its best to help all of us feel seen. Keep up the great work!

Growing up in Spanish Harlem, these were a norm for me. I’m Black American, but I have cousins whose other side is Puerto Rican and we were all intertwined. During holidays and cookouts there was always a mix of Black American and Puerto Rican cuisines on my mom’s side. (Dad’s side is Panamanian/Jamaican) Also, the culture and food surrounded me. We grew up on pasteles, accapurrias, bacalalitos, pastelitos, etc. These are sold all through East/Spanish Harlem. Especially during the Puerto Rican Day Festival. Now that I have my own family. I add dishes to our holiday table that represent each culture in the household. Much ❤

The corned beef filled version is an out-of-this-world experience. Also, we use green bananas only for the masa, seasoned with salt and natural annato-colored oil. The 4 side grate plane used in PR is the diamond mash plane. The receipe doesn't include potatoes nor diced peppers.
This looks like a tasty variation though.

I've lived in PR for a few years I've lived in North Philly ( little PR away from PR )all my life and I have never tried alcapurria This video is making me feel very regretful for not taking not 1 opportunity in trying one out. I will definitely try one out some time this upcoming weekend at my local PR stop. By the way, this video made " making alcapurria sexy " job guys !!!
