A review on Fear Inoculum, the fifth full studio album from TOOL. It’s finally happened everyone. TOOL released a new album. The long wait is over. You read it right.

Tool is an American rock band from Los Angeles. Formed in 1990, the group's line-up includes drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones, and vocalist Maynard James Keenan. Justin Chancellor has been the band's bassist since 1995, replacing their original bassist Paul D'Amour. Tool has won three Grammy Awards, performed worldwide tours, and produced albums topping the charts in several countries.

To date, the band has released four studio albums, one EP and one box set. They emerged with a heavy metal sound on their first studio album, Undertow (1993), and became a dominant act in the alternative metal movement with the release of their follow-up album Ænima in 1996. Their efforts to unify musical experimentation, visual arts, and a message of personal evolution continued with Lateralus (2001) and 10,000 Days (2006), gaining critical acclaim and international commercial success. Their fifth studio album, Fear Inoculum, their first in thirteen years, will be released on August 30, 2019. Prior to its release, the band has sold over 13 million albums in the US alone.

Fear Inoculum is the upcoming fifth studio album by American rock band Tool. It is the band's first album in thirteen years, due to creative, personal, and legal issues band members encountered since 2006's 10,000 Days. The album is scheduled for release on August 30, 2019. #TOOL #FearInoculum #7empest #TOOLMusic #Maynard #Invincible #Descending #AlbumReview #Review #Rocked

This album requires multiple listens and is not for the casual music listener, trust me it gets AMAZING after multiple listens

I've listened to it three times in a row. There's a HUGE amount of meaning to unpack. I was honestly a little underwhelmed the first time through, but it's become exponentially more fascinating to me. I've had to shed my expectations. It's like nothing Tool has given us before. Those who take the time to listen honestly will appreciate it deeply.

An important note for Tool fans-
Anima is radically different from Undertow, Lateraulus is radically different from Anima, 10, 000 days is radically different from Lateraulus. So you have kind of have curb your clout just a little bit to give the record a chance, and understand that this is not got going to be like their previous works.

How anyone in this comment section considers 7empest to be “weak” is absolutely beyond my understanding

And it was worth it.

I listened to it on headphones and it is a great album. Headphones make the difference as you can pick up the nuances easier. The rhythm section really shines on the album.

I'd say 7empist is best if you are a fan on Undertow and Aenima, and the rest of the album if Lateralus and 10, 000 Days are more your style. Personally Invincible is my favorite!

2019:

The downside is that we lost the Amazon rainforest.

The upside, we finally got that new Tool album.

I heard this album in Newbury Comics (shout to my New England Bros) and holy shit I love it, I literally stayed in there for 90ish minutes just to listen to it and read comics while doing so

This album is amazing even with its flaws but Fear Inocolum surpassed my expectations. Dany and Justin are the stars on this album, Maynard sang every song calmly and the natural progression of the songs didn't need screams or gutturals. Adam is always a beast.

The crazy thing is that 10.000 days wa released when I was 17, now I'm 30 and I experienced one of the best things that have happened to rock and roll music: a new Tool album.

The only question is "is this the last one?"

This album is incredible, Tool however, is not for the casual listener. After waiting 13 years, if all we got was "Pneuma" I would've been satisfied but we got an entire album of brilliance imo.

Say what you want about tool and how long it takes for them to release a new album, you gets your money's worth when they get around to it.

So in the past decade we’ve had Chinese Democracy and a new Tool album released. Maybe a new System of a Down album next?
