I just called Brita and maybe their policies have changed, because they told me they'd only replace a filter's indicator panel if the filter was not more than a year old. Mine is definitely older than a year. So I'm going to try to change the battery. They also offered a coupon for a discount on a new water filter pitcher, so I said OK -- but if I can change the battery on my own, no need to buy an entirely new pitcher.

Great tip and I would love to try it, but my lid doesn't have any sort of access port and I don't see a way of nondestructivly removing the old one.

I know this vid is 4 years old, but some pitcher models are discontinued. I currently have a Brita Stream. I called to hopefully get a replacement timer, but no luck. I looked on the website, I couldn't even find the replacement parts section, just replacement filters.

@ZRK REVIEWS Please revise your description info, I just spoke with them and they absolutely do not have this replacement available here in the USA, they said they have no replacement parts available at all. This really needs to be in your description stating only available in some areas in and around the UK I guess.

It can be sent for free but only in the UK. I don't see any option to choose another country...

How bout just programming a reminder on your cell phone or email each time you replace the filter cartridge. Problem solved. The LCD display plays no critical role in the actual filtration process. Hence not as important as you think.

I run the timer twice for each filter as we all know how brita makes its money .... and they work fine for two months guys ! honest !
