Bassai Dai (SLOW) - Shotokan Karate-Do JKA

It says right in the description that he did it in the stye of Gichin Funakoshi. Meaning this is an older version of the Kata, presumably one where the differences with the older Okinawan styles were fewer. Hence the higher positions and "mistakes".

Karate begins and ends with respect. Seems you forgot that too.

Shotokan is long in stance. That back stance is terrible! No hip adjustment on the blocks in the first segment.Hand position at the yoko geri is wrong, yama tsuki is way off. This is mcdojo karate not jka. Bassai dai means stroming the fortress, it is a strong kata and one you would have to take for shodan. For this effort i wouldnt award a 2nd kyu. My only positive is the format in which the video is presented. Good clear angles, proper slow motion and clear recording.

A mi me parece que este Kata esta bien efectuado el Sensei que interpreta, acciona este Katá lo hace con total voluntad, y tratando en todo momento de hacer denotar con detalles cada golpe, no es que casi se cae, ni que no tenga los movimientos necesarios, poco importa eso, lo que interesa es como transmite aqui el grito Kiai lo dice mucho, ...para mi lo ha efectuado bien !
