I remember this like yesterday, I was convinced we’d walk into the final because we battered them 9-0 in the league the same season.
Fair play to that Palace side, genuinely wish they’d won the final.

Always remember getting caught in the middle of a gang of liverpool fans after the game. There was two of us and we thought we were getting battered. They took the piss abit put the arms out and said lads congratulations what a game if football. We had a bite to eat and we ended up on the beer with them all night. They were smashing fellas and to this day we remain pals. We don’t get many memories us palace fans but I’ll remember the day we won and made best mates [ football did this )

A day that I will never forget. Celebrations in the pubs around Birmingham city centre with fellow Palace fans living around the Midlands, met lads from Coventry, Lichfield, Stoke, Wolverhampton.
Remember getting the last train back from Birmingham New Street to Rugby, absolutely wrecked.

Came back here after hearing about John Motson's death. Iconic commentary on an iconic match, which I didn't hear on the day because I was there on the Holte End. Greatest day ever as a Palace fan. RIP Motty.

I remember working the Sunday this game was played, had to listen to it on a radio. As an arsenal fan I absolutely loved it, a total rollercoaster of emotions from what I remember. Sadly within a couple of seasons of this match the shine was slowly coming off of the cup, no thanks to the PL & FA.

Absolutely fantastic game of Football, the other semi final later that day wasn't too Shabby, Oldham 3 Man United 3

both SFs were on live on the same day, the first year they ever did it. As a MU fan, i watched this with relish then saw us struggle against Oldham 3-3. Liverpool had a habit of messing up doubles and trebles from 77 to 90. They did the domestic double twice, should have been 5 at least.
