Use wood glue rather than string to keep together, and you have yourself a great container to hide something. Cool idea.

😂 They used to make these in the 20's to hide and transport moonshine. They'd bury the base about 3", and make a batch look like a clearing of saplings. And when they'd transport them, they'd bundle them up like cords or wood. It was pretty genius.

Can line the inside with melted beeswax to make it hold water, assuming you don't want to glue it. Made a mug like that for a friend of mine when he got married, it still holds liquid 6 years later.

I made something like this, but it was a round hole and a honeydew melon. lmao ah my younger years , , you can modify it by putting a breather hole connected to the same chamber... to release the pressure or add it, just cover it with your finger lmao

Nice job man. Could always seal it with animal fat/beeswax or pine pitch and make a water proof container or even a water bottle.
