3:33 Even the internal details are accurate. Placing the round elements for the tanks (top oxy, bottom fuel) and leaving empty space under them where the grill elements are. Then mounting the outside "skin" panels over the tanks. This set is amazing.

Picked this set up last week. I am blown away by how well designed it is. It is very robust, the stages stay together we'll, but then come apart cleanly. Most awesome Lego set I've had. Awesome.

I always come back to watch this video, cause I remember after seeing this vid, as a kid, I have always wanted it. I got it, it was complicated, but worth it, and I still got it to this day. The music about this video is so nostalgic. Definitely one of my favorite lego sets of all time

I've just built it myself and its even more impressive in real life! Photos and video don't do it justice, it's amazing!

Try turning the little megaphone pieces at the escape tower so it looks more like a lattice. Reference the manual for help

Just clicked on this to watch but I realized how many modules it's needed to send that tiny thing at the top into space. Crazy!

The fact that Apollo 11 was launched on 1969 and they gave 1969 pieces is amazing

I love the amount of detail put into this thing and especially the building techniques.

Just got mine the other day (didn't have enough money for it before) and was finally able to build it today. It is literally the coolest thing I have ever owned

First, before I owned this model, I watched this video thousands of times. Then, I bought it, and I stopped watching it. Now, nostalgia is to powerful
Edit: I'm back after even more years, and I feel nostalgic for my own comment

17:00 Somebody clearly didn’t pay attention to the stages of the Saturn V during history class, or to the back of the box of this set

Ah yes! He started with the second stage (Im pretty sure that five J-2 engines aren't powerful enough to lift a rocket from the ground), ejected the Command Service Module WITH the astronauts (plus the LAS on the top) into space and took the exploration upper stage to the moon.

Very accurate...

It would be cool to do a stop-motion animation of this where it goes to the moon and back showing all details of the actual missions.

Ive had mine for nearly two years now, and I gotta say...

It is freaking awesome.

When you open the rocket, all the details from it are actually what the real Saturn V had. Lego has made it great, with its good thinking. Imagine who created this and how much time he spent trying to attach the details, without glue. Amazingly done.
