All Eyes on Arizona for US Midterm Elections

It’s Election Week, not Election Day, if you live in Arizona. Days after the election, major races for governor, secretary of state, and senate are still up in the air in that critical swing state. The state, which flipped blue for President Joe Biden in 2020, has become a hotbed of election conspiracy theories and recounts in the last two years. And allegations of voter intimidation at drop boxes had voters on edge in the last few weeks. VICE News spoke with voters, election officials and law enforcement on Election Day about what the remainder of the week holds.

It's unbelievable how the US, a first world country, takes weeks between mail in voting and machine voting to count all the votes whilst Brazil, a third world country that has similar voting population, managed to count 99% of the votes in just 4 hours.

Maricopa County/Valley of the Sun resident here. Its really cool that were being recognized on the national stage, but its a little embarrassing that people are only seeing the crazy ones. I promise that we're not all like this, please don't think less of us.

22 year old year old AZ local here! Been voting blue straight down the ticket since I first turned 18! Not having any say back in 2016 was very traumatic for my generation, and has made us very politically active. At least that's been my experience. Everyone I went to high school with, including the one's who didn't go to college, vote in every election as well. I'm really proud that we, along with all the California transplants, who are more than welcome in my book, have made Arizona a real swing state!
