Thematic Apperception Test - TAT - Part 4

The Thematic Apperception Test, or TAT, is a type of projective test that involves describing ambiguous scenes. Popularly known as the "picture interpretation technique," it was developed by American psychologists Henry A. Murray and Christina D. Morgan at Harvard University in the 1930s.

The TAT involves showing people a series of picture cards depicting a variety of ambiguous characters (that may include men, women, and/or children), scenes, and situations.

1. The woman is blacked out drunk, naked in her bed. The man who could be a son, grandson, brother, etc. walked in and is like “damnit, drinking again huh?”, covering his eyes since she doesn’t have clothes on.
2. A long night of clubbing lead the woman to come home, undress, and sleep blacked out drunk. The man is otw home from work/school, or about to head there. Walked in the room to grab his wallet or whatever, sees her like this and is annoyed.
3. The woman is unconscious, the man is frustrated and ashamed of her; he’s not new to this, but it is what it is. He’ll wait for her to sober up and then they’ll have lunch.
4. She wakes up, showers, vomits, gets dressed, eats. The man shakes his head and says “this can’t keep happening, this is unhealthy and is becoming a problem”. She apologizes, he forgives her, but knows it’s bound to happen again.

4. The man moved on and learned that his wife want him to live happily and never forget her so he comes everyday to her grave with roses because those were her favourites and talk to his grave about the things they used to do together.

He was a possessive and jealous man who reacted instinctively and is now covering his face because he's scared of what he has done, and he would like to erase it. The woman is dead and he is distraught. He will soon confess everything to the police.
