Full-time DH is the only route available for him to extend his career.

As a Brazilian, Mike Trout is the baseball version of Brazilian Ronaldo aka "The Phenomenon". Both are maybe the greatest player in their sports, but injures denied us to see the best version of themselves.
As we in Brazil likes to say about this situation: " He's so great that his body couldn't handle his greatness"

How the angels wasted such a talented player will never not make me sad

And the biggest problem is him placing loyalty into an organization that has only been able to put together a roster to get him to October once

I started really following baseball in 2012 when Mike Trout was a rookie. My favorite number has been 27 since them. So tragic!

As a die hard Trout fan and myself being from Millville area in NJ, Mike Trout always has my respect as one of the best MLB players of all time.

He was faithful to his team. That same faith cost him his chances to win.
Edit: For anyone who is confused, when I stated that, “his faith cost him his chances to win, ” I meant it more as another variable to his downfall. Yes, he is very injury prone, but the front office didn’t do him any favors.

Mickey Mantle could hit .340 with 50 HRs and was clocked fastest in the league from home to first when batting lefty. He tripped over a drain in the outfield and tore his knee up, was never the same player, and limped his final two seasons. Stuff happens.

A true titan of the game. And he's right - quite possibly the best player to take the field.

If you want some hope: People were saying all of this about Sidney Crosby back in 2013. All the games missed, the concussion scares, he was still young but already looking like his career might be lost. He came back to be the most dominant center of the decade anyway, and a top 10 player of all time at the very least.

A bad stretch of injuries can always just be that: a bad stretch. That stretch might end. We can always hope.

It is a shame, a crying shame. Ive never been an Angel's fan but i have always loved Trout. I wish someone better would have drafted him...

Not to mention, he's one of the nicest and most humble guys to ever play the sport

He needs to leave the Angels. Everyone knows that he doesn’t want to go his entire career as one of the greatest players to never win a World Series. I still can’t believe that he’s only played in one playoff series in his career.

I’m a angels fan and this just breaks my heart into more pieces

Ever hear the tragedy of Mike Trout, it's not a story the Angels would tell you...😂

Age can change people. He should’ve gone to a better organization, the angels and injuries were his downfall, he should retire

I was a Oakland A's fan and even I can say Mike Trout deserved better. Much like Sonny Gray did with the A's.

I'll never forget when the year he and Bryce Harper came into the league. Set it on fire

This isn’t a tragedy. It’s the nature of the beast. Mike Trout is an incredible talent and has had an amazing career. Truly 1 of 1
