How do these communicate with my dumb boiler?

I have a dumb thermostat that I turn manually up when I want the heating on and manually turn off when I want heating off. How does this device talk to my boiler to turn it off?

I have the Hive system, would this still work? Also, say if I wanted to heat room 1 but not heat room 2, is it possible to turn off the valve in room 2 through the kasa app? Thank you

IF I CANT USE THE TAPO APP FOR KE100...

Considering just returning these and cancelling my plans to spend hundreds on sensors and more after discovering they're not even now compatible with the TAPO APP!!! WTF, THIS IS DUMB!

The devices were very recently in my devices I could add list and not now since receiving my order of two of these.
Less than smart, thanks! Very disappointed so far.
